Roadtrip: Luray Caverns

After the last few roadtrips, it seemed like it was time to hit the road and appreciate some natural wonders.  So the lot of us (Koala, parents, and yours truly) got together for a roadtrip to Luray Caverns.  Unlike my last cave excursion, Ledenika, the Luray Caverns are huge.  Also, no giant ice structures, but you can't have everything.

Might I suggest a little music to accompany the following shots?  A little "In the Hall of the Mountain King," perhaps?

 Onward for adventure!

Dream Lake, a mirrored pool deep in the caves.

That's a whole lot of cave, right there.

 Another look at Dream Lake.

Drapery formations--many of these were only as thick as a piece of paper!

Wow, what a locationally advantageous place to be close to! :)
New England isn't known for it's underground geological splendor, so I've always wanted to visit a place like this. :)

It looks like a brig, grand, spooky adventure was had by all.
How apropos, given the upcoming holiday. ;)

It is lucky that we're so close to it, it's absolutely amazing. I think I'd put it on a must-see list for the state. :)
